Monsters, Inc. is getting a sequel according to a Latino Review exclusive. Although Pixar will deny it until an official announcement, a reliable source has indicated that Monsters, Inc. 2 will be next in the long chain of Pixar‘s sequels (see Toy Story 3, Cars 2). A tentative release time-frame would put the project in the 2012-2013 range.
No word yet on whether the director of the unoriginal director Pete Docter will be involved in the production, but I expect he won’t be too far from it.
I must admit, I don’t buy into the Pixar hype perhaps as much as I should, but my two standout favorites are Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. Therefore, I’ll take a sequel to either of those any day. Hopefully, it can live up to the first one.
