Bennett Miller — helmer of 2005’s excellent Capote — may have taken six years for his follow up feature, but it’s looking to be well worth the wait. The UK trailer has arrived for his highly anticipated Moneyball, which tells the true story of how Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane used computer generated analysis to transfer players and generate success for his team.

The film features an excellent cast that includes Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Robin Wright, and Philip Seymour Hoffman, the lattermost of whom won an Oscar for his lead performance in Capote. The writers are equally distinguished — Steve Zaillian (Schindler’s List) and Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) penned the screenplay, which is based on Michael Lewis’ Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.

With such talented people working on the film onscreen and off, I think this is destined to be a success. Moneyball will open on November 25th, after a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
