The only thing we’ve seen thus far from Spike Lee‘s Oldboy is a fairly plain teaser poster released at CinemaCon, but ahead of any debut footage a batch of unused one-sheets have now made their way online. Coming from artist Juan Luis Garcia, these “key art explorations” provide an initial look at our star Josh Brolin, who spends 20 long years (up from 15 in Park Chan-wook‘s original) in solitary confinement as an advertising executive who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage.

When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. These are much stronger pieces of our art then our first tease and a few remind us of some fake Criterion Collection covers. Check them out below for the film also starring Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson and Sharlto Copley.

Update: Posters removed at the studio’s request.

Oldboy opens on October 25th.
