Fans have had their minute to mourn the loss of Megan Fox from Transformers 3, now it is time to move on because according to The Wrap she is already being replaced! Prince of Persia star Gemma Arterton is said to be the front-runner amongst a long list of actresses who could potentially take this coveted role:
An individual close to the casting process says the actress has already had discussions with Bay about the coveted role. Other possible replacements for Fox include models Bar Rafaeli, Miranda Kerr and Brooklyn Decker.
Arterton is still carving a name for herself in the film industry. She started out small in Quantum of Solace and has since played mediocre roles in films including, Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and most recently in the Cannes film, Tamara Drewe. But to see her acting potential we must look to her performance in the recent BBC adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles. She is emotionally compelling in the leading role of Tess, a character generally found to be difficult to play. If Ehren Kruger and Michael Bay give Shia LaBeouf’s new love interest more substance in their screenplay, this could be a great role for Arteton to use as a platform into better roles.
But with this news still fresh it’s not likely that Arterton, or any other rumored model or actress, will be filling Fox’s shoes just yet. But just in case you wanted to start taking bets here’s a list of actresses that AICN’s “trustworthy sources” say are being considered for the role: Zoe Saldana, Hayden Panetierre, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Camilla Belle, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ashley Greene, Julianne Hough, Jessica Lowndes and English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
