It wouldn’t be the fall season without a World War II-set feature and today brings the first trailer for one that’ll be an all-out actioner. Coming off of End of Watch and Sabotage, David Ayer‘s Fury gets him out of the crime drama and into the heat of battle, tracking a group of Allies whose home is a Sherman tank.
Starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal and Michael Peña, the first footage is fairly impressive with palpable stakes and large-scale combat. One might not be able to disassociate Pitt’s character from Lt. Aldo Raine, but he’s surrounded by a strong, varied ensemble. Check out the trailer and poster below.
April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
Fury opens on October 17th, 2014.
