Things are about to get heated…and dangerous. Brian De Palma is returning to filmmaking after a five-year break with the erotic drama Passion and today we’ve got the first trailer. Set for showings at Venice, TIFF and NYFF, Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace star in the remake of Alain Corneau’s Crime d’amour which see the two business women entangled in a sultry relationship.

While I like the campy, over-the-top aspects here as they embark on a affair, the standard, almost TV-look of the cinematography is a bit disappointing. Hopefully De Palma provides some fun tricks behind the camera, as he still did in some of his recent works like Femme Fatale. Check out the trailer below and look back for our coverage as the film premieres soon.

TIFF kicks off on September 6th.
