Ready for your new Mary Jane? All signs point to Zombieland and Easy A star Emma Stone. Deadline has updated their story and revealed the upcoming leading lady next to Andrew Garfield. Sony will “imminently offer” the role of Mary Jane Watson in Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man 3-D reboot to Stone.
Yesterday we reported on the rest of the ladies in the running for the 2nd love interest, Gwen Stacy (played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-Man 3). With Stone for Watson, this leaves Glee star Dianna Agron, Georgina Haig (Wasted on the Young), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right) and Dominique McElligott (Moon).
Stone truly seems like a perfect fit for the role and it’s been nice to see her quick rise to fame since 2007’s Superbad. Spider-Man starts shooting this December and will be released summer 2012.
