Leonardo DiCaprio, one of the best actors working today, is reportedly in talks to star in Clint Eastwood‘s upcoming biopic Hoover. DiCaprio met with Eastwood to discuss the flick, and apparently liked what he saw, EW is reporting [via The Playlist]. Leo had this to say:

“It sounds interesting to say the least… There’s no contract, no anything, but I’m a huge fan of Clint’s.”

The flick is about (in)famous FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, who held the post for 48 years amidst turmoil. Widely regarded for his extensive files on subversives and political enemies, he is perhaps best known for his private life, where he was rumored to be a closeted homosexual. Whichever plot line the movie focuses on, DiCaprio would have plenty of power to knock this one out of the park. Its the perfect storm for a legendary performance.

Oscar-winning scribe Dustin Lance Black (Milk) is writing the movie. Warner Brothers is taking the reigns. No word on when production will begin, but look for it to be this year.

Should Leo take this role? Who would you like to see in it?
