Fox’s Rise of the Apes will shortly have a new cast member, according to The Wrap, with Brian Cox in final negotiations to sign on, reuniting him with his director from the excellent The Escapist, Rupert Wyatt.
Cox will join the likes of James Franco, John Lithgow and Andy Serkis to play a villainous primate sanctuary owner who has little regard for the animals’ well-being, so expect him to be in chief scumbag mode as seen in x2, Troy and The Bourne Supremacy.
To recap on the plot, the film will focus on genetic experiments performed on the primates which cause the development of their intelligence and culminates in a war between the two species, with Serkis in performance capture mode as Caesar, the leader of the revolt.
