When Paul Giamatti is starring in something, I pay attention. After I fell in love with Sideways back during its initial release, I have been a Giamatti disciple and have watched everything he has had even a small part in. After a bunch of bit pieces and animated voices, he is returning to starring on the big-screen with Barney’s Version. The theatrical trailer was showcased on Cinema Blend, but now it’s our turn so check out the trailer below courtesy of Yahoo!:
Giamatti looks like he’s playing the usual loser sad sack much like Sideways, but with the added ability of being able to land Rosamund Pike as a girlfriend…at his wedding to another woman no less! Josh Tyler of Cinema Blend says that he has heard that the movie is far more dramatic than it looks in this trailer, and I can definitely see Barney’s Version being more dramatic than outright funny, but either way I’m ready to jump on board.
Barney’s Version has already been playing the festival circuit through out 2010 and will hit theaters by the end of the year.
