James Cameron‘s vice grip on the box office continued into the seventh week of Avatar, as it cashed in for $30 million more this weekend in the US.  The total domestic income is $594,472,000, less than 6 million away from his other money machine Titanic. At this rate, it will eclipse the domestic mark on Tuesday.

Runners-up this week were notable newcomers; Mel Gibson thriller Edge of Darkness was in second with $17 million, and the romantic comedy When In Rome was third with $12 million.

The Blind Side fell out of the top ten for the first time, as Sandra Bullock continues her Best Actress Oscar campaign.  After eleven weeks, it has grossed $237,913,000 total.
