Soon after he gave us his early best films of 2013 list — a varied rundown ranging from The Lone Ranger to Before Midnight Quentin Tarantino stopped by Busan International Film Festival, where he saw a film that would top them all. Big Bad Wolves, directed by Rabies duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado screened at the festival and during a Q&A, the Django Unchained director revealed that “Not only is this the best film in Busan, this is the best film of the year.”

Magnolia Pictures are wasting no time to get this one to theaters; an early 2014 bow has been unveiled, along with the trailer and poster. Following a father out for revenge, intertwined with both a detective and a suspected killer, we weren’t fans of it at Fantasia, as our full review saying “its excessive violence is too intrinsically tied to questions of morality to simply create excuses of ‘it’s just entertainment.'” If you think it might be up your alley, check out the U.S. trailer and poster below for the film starring Lior Ashkenazi, Rotem Keinan, Tzahi Grad and Dov Glickman.

In BIG BAD WOLVES a series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: The father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings—a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder.

Big Bad Wolves opens on VOD and in theaters on January 17th.
