Sundance Film Festivals always brings a wealth of notable documentaries each year, but perhaps the strangest strong it brought to light in 2015 comes with Finders Keepers. As the synopsis reads, “Recovering addict and amputee John Wood finds himself in a stranger-than-fiction battle to reclaim his mummified leg from Southern entrepreneur Shannon Whisnant, who found it in a grill he bought at an auction and believes it to therefore be his rightful property.”
While the initial event dates back to 2007, directors Bryan Carberry and J. Clay Tweel have captured it in the forthcoming documentary and today brings the first trailer ahead of a release next month. The highly entertaining preview looks to have a surprising amount of both humor and heart in the peculiar story.
