We got a short and sweet teaser for Intruders earlier this summer, and now a full-length one has arrived, in Spanish. 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo directs Clive Owen (Inside Man, Children of Men)and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds) in this horror/thriller. Fresnadillo recently said that the film “reflects [his] love of the darkest visual universe, of the demons buried in our unconscious,” and it will “focus more on the chain of fear that grows in these seemingly normal and happy families as their kids are visited by unknown entities, rather than just focus on the evil spirits.” I’m a big Clive Owen fan, even if he hasn’t picked the greatest of projects recently, and Fresnadillo can certainly craft a compelling film. I just hope this one transcends being a simple horror flick with jump scares, and it truly lives up to our director’s comments. Check out the Spanish trailer below via Quiet Earth.
Update: Yahoo has premiered the English-language UK trailer below.
Synopsis:
A horror/thriller centered on the origin of the monsters that are born in childhood and are passed on by the family.
Intruders opens San Sebastian Film Festival on September 16th, before hitting theaters on October 7th.
