At the age of 83, after numerous trips to the festival, master filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard will be returning and breaking new ground. Shot completely in 3D, his latest work, Goodbye to Language, clocks in at 70 minutes and will be competing for the Palme d’Or. Following the first trailer nearly a year ago, we now have one tailor-made for its festival opening.

Still NSFW, it presents a number of new images in the story that follows ”a man and his wife who no longer speak the same language.” Their dog, who “they take on walks then intervenes and speaks,” also gets prime real estate in the preview. Check out it out below, along with Godard’s handwritten synopsis and the new poster, for the film starring Héloise Godet, Jessica Erickson, Kamel Abdeli, Richard Chevallier, Alexandre Païta and Zoé Bruneau.
