Another year in cinema, another film from Woody Allen. Following up his lesser effort To Rome With Love, the always occupied filmmaker completed production on his latest project last year and we’ve finally got news on a title and which distributor will be taking it on this year.

To no one’s surprise, Sony Pictures Classics announced in a press release today that they have acquired all North American rights to Allen’s drama and reveal the title to be Blue Jasmine. Marking their sixth collaboration with the helmer, they give the brief plot synopsis, that it follows “the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife.”

We know production mainly occurred in San Francisco with Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, Sally Hawkins and Peter Sarsgaard as part of the cast, but the news also comes with a another name, as A Serious Man and Boardwalk Empire star Michael Stuhlbarg has been revealed to part of the ensemble. Perhaps we can expect a summer release for this one, but with no confirmation coming in yet, check back for updates on one our most-anticipated films of the year.

Are you looking forward to the next film from Woody Allen? What do you think of Stuhlbarg in the ensemble?
