While we chalked up their recent bonding time at Disneyland as preparation for a South by Southwest Film Festival conversation regarding Lost River, it looks like Ryan Gosling and Guillermo del Toro had more on their mind. According to The Wrap, Gosling is heading back to Disney for del Toro‘s Haunted Mansion. Scripted by D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity), the project’s been in development for half-a-decade at the company, but perhaps this new attachment will get movement started again. There’s no word yet on the exact plot details for the supernatural feature, but with del Toro committed to Pacific Rim 2 for the next few years, don’t expect it for awhile.

julianne_mooreComing off of Enough SaidNicole Holofcener has found a star for her next project, Can You Ever Forgive Me. Re-teaming with Fox Searchlight, Variety reports that Oscar winner Julianne Moore will lead the film, which is based on Lee Israel‘s 2008 memoir. Getting into perhaps more dramatic territory than usual, the story follows the biographer who ended up writing fake letters of deceased writers and celebrities to get by. When the FBI was tracking her down, she want on a run stealing real letters.

brie_larsonWith Olivia Wilde succumbing to Tron 3, there is some good news to come out of the ordeal. She’s been replaced by Brie Larson in Ben Wheatley‘s highly-anticipated Free Fire, Variety reports. Joining Luke Evans, Armie Hammer and Cillian Murphy, the 70’s-set thriller (which is compared to Reservoir Dogs) follows a wild shoot-out between two gangs in a deserted warehouse.

daniel_radcliffeIn additional casting news, THR reports that Daniel Radcliffe has found his next role. The actor has come aboard Grand Theft Auto, which is not an adaptation of the videogame, but rather an account of the true story between its creator (Radcliffe) and Miami-based lawyer Jack Thompson who sought to ban the game due to video game violence. Directed by Owen Harris (Black Mirror), shooting kicks off at the end of the month, so check back for news on who gets cast as Thompson.

dane_dehaanAfter enjoying the excess of Johnny Depp-led mega-blockbusters, Gore Verbinski is returning to the horror genre for his next feature. According to THR, The Ring director will helm A Cure for Wellness with Dane DeHaan and Mia Goth leading. Coming from Revolutionary Road scribe Justin Haythe, the horror film follows DeHaan’s character as he tracks down his boss at a wellness spa in Europe, only to see its dark purposes. Production kicks off in June for the 20th Century Fox film.

vin_dieselLastly, with production just kicking off, Ang Lee has locked down the cast for Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, a feature which he’ll shoot in 3D and using high-frame rate. Joining Joe Alwyn, Steve Martin, and Garrett Hedlund is Kristen Stewart, Vin Diesel and Chris Tucker, Deadline reports. Following Billy Lynn and his flashbacks to an Iraq War battle while on a return trip home to the U.S., Diesel takes the role of a solider, Tucker a movie producer interested in adapting the story, and Stewart will play Lynn’s sister. Expect a release later next year.
