After helming the thoroughly entertaining (and somewhat frightening) Game Change, director Jay Roach is getting back in the political ring for The Campaign. Previously known as Rivals, Southern Rivals and Dogfight, WB have finally secured a title for the film with follows Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis on the North Carolina campaign circuit.
EW (via The Playlist) have our first look below for the film also starring Jason Sudeikis, John Lithgow, Dylan McDermott, Brian Cox and Dan Aykroyd. I recommend listening to a recent episode of KCRW’s The Business, where Roach discuss his HBO film, as well as this one. He stated the absurdity of the real-life elections were outdoing some of written bits here, so in an effort to not feel as tame, they kept upping the ante. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
The Campaign hits theaters August 10th.
