After The A-Team underperformed last year, Bradley Cooper’s star power has returned with Limitless and his streak will likely continue with The Hangover: Part II later this summer. Neil Burger‘s drug-induced thriller also starring Robert De Niro performed above expectations with $19m. On budgets of $40m, the other two new entries (The Lincoln Lawyer and Paul) debuted in the $13m range and placed 4th and 5th, respectively.

Rango continues its box office hold, coming in 2nd place with $15.3m and bringing its total to $92.5m. After taking the top spot last week, Battle: Los Angeles fell nearly 60% to 3rd place with $14.6m. In limited release, Win Win grabbed a high $30.8k per-theater-average, starting out with $154k. Sundance debut The Music Never Stopped didn’t do as well in limited release, only managing $88.5k in 32 theaters.

Next week expect Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch to rule the box office, especially with its IMAX debut. Fox will give a wide release to Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules while Miral, Peep World, Potiche, and White Irish Drinkers will all see quite limited releases.
