We may not be getting a feature film from him anytime soon, but David Fincher is keeping busy with a handful of other projects. After directing the first two episodes of House of Cards (listen to our discussion of that Netflix series here), he has now taken on a short-form project with the first official music video from his Sean Parker aka Justin Timberlake‘s upcoming album, The 20/20 Experience.
Accompanied by Jay-Z, the video for the first single, Suit & Tie, takes on a black-and-white approach. There’s no discernible narrative to speak of here, but if you are in the mood for some Fincher-esque visuals (shot by Matthew Libatique), there’s some gorgeously lit sets from a nightclub to a recording studio to a water-filled stage. Check it out below, featuring smoke, liquor, lasers and, of course, lots of suits and ties.
The 20/20 Experience arrives on March 19th.
