As promised yesterday with the arrival of new images, the full-length trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s The Revenant has arrived to screen this weekend with 20th Century Fox’s other major fall movie, The Martian (our review).

The adaptation of Michael Punke‘s 19th century-set western follows the story of Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass, an injured fur trapper who’s robbed by two men after he can’t be brought back to civilization; after being left for dead, he escapes the wilderness and goes to find revenge.

With the majority of filmmaking taking place between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m each day, production designer Jack Fisk tells Yahoo, “We’d be scrambling at the end of the day to film the last few hours of daylight.” Speaking about DiCaprio — who is a vegetarian — he says, “He had to eat the liver. I think he threw up afterward… he was so into it. It made me really appreciate the extent to which he’ll go to make things right.”

Also starring Tom Hardy, Will Poulter, and Domnhall Gleeson, check it out below.
