Deadline has reported that Tim Guinee has been added to the JJ Abrams, Eric Kripke drama Revolution for NBC, which has been directed by Jon Favreau. “The high-octane action drama follows a group of people struggling to survive with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” Guinee has recently starred in the TV drama The Good Wife, and has also worked alongside Favreau for both Iron Man films.
Switching nationalities and projects just a bit, Deadline also reports that Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist has been cast in the ABC drama Zero Hour, which marks his U.S. series debut. Written and produced by Prison Break creator, Paul Scheuring, Hour centers “on Hank Foley (Anthony Edwards) who, after spending 20 years as the editor of Modern Skeptics magazine, becomes involved in one of the most compelling conspiracies in human history when his wife is kidnapped.”
He is set to play White Vincent, “one of the villains at the heart of the global conspiracy that thrives inside Zero Hour.” You may have seen Nyqvist play the original Mikael Blomkvist in the Swedish version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, or more recently the villain in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
The last bit of casting news comes from THR, as they have reported that Colm Meaney, co-star of AMC’s Hells on Wheels, has joined the cast of the thriller The Occult. Meaney will join Anne Heche and Rufus Sewell for the indie drama, “which details the strange goings-on within a religious cult.
When young girls start to go missing, older followers in the cult feat a long-told prophecy while younger members suspect abusive elders are killing them off.” Christian Christiansen is directing, with Mickey Liddell set to produce.
What do you think about any of these projects and these casting choices?
