It was reported just a few days ago that Captain America star Chris Evans was brought in to play a role in Bong Joon-ho‘s first English language film Snow Piercer. Variety has just let us known that Tilda Swinton and Jamie Bell are currently in talks to join the indie drama.
Adapted for the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Mother‘s Park Chan-wook has written the screenplay for the post-apocalyptic story about “a group of people on a train without a final destination, struggling to survive after the end of the world brings on a cataclysmic ice age.”
After giving delivering a string of fantastic performances, most recently in We Need to Talk About Kevin, Swinton is a promising addition to the thriller. Snow Piercer seems like a different kind of project for the Oscar-winner, which makes me interested in seeing how it pans out.
Bell‘s recent acting choices, providing his voice and motion captured body in The Adventures of Tintin and most notably Jane Eyre (I’m still trying hard to forget Jumper) have been been promising After kick starting his career with Billy Elliot, I see him having a bright future in Hollywood if he continues on this path.
With these big names possibly joining the cast, it will definitely help to make The Host director’s first Hollywood project an enticing one. Production on Snow Piercer will begin in March.
