One of my most anticipated movies of 2011 is Super 8, the super secret alien movie being done by J.J. Abrams, who produced Cloverfield (monster seen above). With little information being leaked out, any morsels that find its way on the internet are worthy of checking out. Yes, even the ones that will probably not pan out. This is one of those; a photo has leaked out of supposed concept art for what the Super 8 alien may look like.
The people at JoBlo first broke this, and said that they got this from an IMDB poster by the name of SS-Cotapaxi. I don’t know about you, but having this come from a user on IMDB gives me all the confidence in the world that this is real. I hope sarcasm reads as well as it sounds in my head. Check out the picture below:
And here’s the description that came with said picture:
“So, my friends’s brother’s wife works for a company that does marketing for films, video games, music, etc. Occasionally she’ll get chain mails from these companies which aren’t supposed to go to them. A few days ago she received a chain mail intended for production staff within Paramount.”
This can be easily doctored with a Paramount logo, and could be nothing at all. And even if it turns out this is just like when random “concept art” for Cloverfield was spread everywhere back in 2007, I’ve got to say…this is still one creepy monster and I would definitely see a movie involving this creature.
Super 8 is currently filming and will be released June 10th, 2011. It stars Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning.
Who else is super excited to be inundated with ridiculous amounts of Super 8 news that will probably turn out to not be true at all?
