It’s the week for one of the biggest films of the year (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, if you could not guess), which means a pile of trailers are coming our way as studios want to show off their 2013 tentpoles to the largest audience possible. We’ve already got a heavy dose of science-fiction with After Earth, Star Trek Into Darkness and  Oblivion, but now it’s time to head west.

Following up an initial trailer this fall, we’ve got our second preview from director Gore Verbinski’s epic adventure film The Lone Ranger. Seeing how Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer meet, we’re also given a look at the much-talked about (and expensive) train sequence. I like our Pirates trilogy helmer’s different approach when it comes to cinematography, but I just hope this one has enough thrills this summer. Check out the trailer below for the film starring Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.

Synopsis:

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

The Lone Ranger hits July 3rd, 2013.
