Coming off of Gravity and the Harry Potter franchise, producer David Heyman is taking on something a bit different with his next project, bringing to life Paddington. With a mix of live-action and CGI, the story follows the iconic bear popularized by Michael Bond many decades ago.
While it’s voiced by Colin Firth and the cast includes Nicole Kidman, you’ll find none of that focused on with a new trailer, instead showing off a few scenes. Directed by Paul King, check out the new trailer below, along with the synopsis and poster for the film that recently got moved back to a Christmas Day release in the states.
From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Firth) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
Paddington lands on December 25thth.
