If you hate rumors, then stay away from this post. This is probably the biggest one we will get all day, unless more casting shortlists for The Dark Knight Rises or Superman: Man of Steel appear. Showbiz 411 is “reporting” the Goodfellas, Casino, Once Upon a Time in America, A Bronx Tale, and Raging Bull co-stars Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci may star together in a upcoming film.

You may ask, “a gangster film? At least a crime film?” No, not even close. The rumor is for David O. Russell‘s upcoming film adaptation of the videogame Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. The biggest possible bullshit in this article is the quote “Right now, the script is being composed from scratch. Word is the actual video game didn’t have much there aside from a concept and a name.”

Word is? Uncharted is not a rare series in which only one copy was played and then immediately destroyed. Why don’t you ask any one of the million players that completed the game, including the story that was there. Alas, there is no mention of who they would team up to play. One could assume De Niro may play Drake’s partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan. There is also a enemy mercenary team that Drake and his team run into, but I could hardly see Pesci playing the leader. Unless they really are starting from scratch and creating new characters, I can’t see this duo fitting in.

Capping it off, there is also the rumor that his star in The Fighter, Mark Wahlberg, may join the film. I could really only see him playing Drake, and that just has terrible written all over it. Nathan Fillion or bust.

The Fighter hits limited theaters on December 10th.

What do you think about this bullshit rumor? Could you ever see them in an Uncharted film?
