Following up his 2007 masterpiece, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, Andrew Dominik is assembling a stellar cast for his next film. The ensemble crime tale Cogan’s Trade already has Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, James Gandolfini and Bella Heathcote attached and it just added another major player. [Variety]
The fantastic Oscar-nominated character actor Richard Jenkins (The Visitor, Let Me In, Step Brothers) has joined the cast as “a lawyer who relays inside information about the card game.” Our lead, Brad Pitt, stars as “a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high-stakes poker game held under the protection of the mob.” The adaptation of George V. Higgins‘ novel still has Casey Affleck rumored to join, but nothing has been confirmed
Cogan’s Trade will start shooting this month in New Orleans and The Weinstein Company will release the film in early 2012.
What do you think of the addition of Jenkins?
