Darren Lynn Bousman is an underrated director; his entries into the Saw franchise have been some of the better ones and I’m part of the Repo!: The Genetic Opera cult. His next movie, titled 11-11-11, starts shooting in Barcelona, Spain on January 17th and Bloody Disgusting has got its hands on some plot details. Mr. Disgusting, the writer of the article, was told these details verbally and I quote from the article below:
Penned by Bousman, after the tragic death of his wife and child, famed American author Joseph Crone travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain to reunite with his enstranged brother Samuel and dying father, Richard. However, fate has a different plan for Joseph as his life becomes plagued with strange happenings, and the constant sightings of the number 11. Curiosity quickly turns to obsession, and Joseph soon realizes that this number holds a horrific meaning not only to himself but possibly to all of religion. Isolated in a foreign country with only the support of his companion, Sadie, Joseph soon realizes that 11/11/11 is more than just a date, it’s a WARNING!
I’m all for a religious thriller (yes, I’m going to be the one guy who sees The Rite), and I have all the confidence in Bousman to make something watchable. The plot details have got me intrigued, and I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for a trailer when it drops sometime next year.
