Since any New York City cinephile has a nearly suffocating wealth of theatrical options, we figured it’d be best to compile some of the more worthwhile repertory showings into one handy list. Displayed below are a few of the city’s most reliable theaters and links to screenings of their weekend offerings — films you’re not likely to see in a theater again anytime soon, and many of which are, also, on 35mm. If you have a chance to attend any of these, we’re of the mind that it’s time extremely well-spent.
Museum of the Moving Image
The essential and amazing cinema of Tsai Ming-liang is highlighted in a new retrospective. Playing this weekend are Vive L’Amour, his rarely seen Boys, The River, The Hole, and The Wayward Cloud.

Film Forum
A double-billing of Sullivan’s Travels and Christmas in July helps kick off “Strictly Sturges” for Friday and Saturday. Easy Living and Remember the Night play on Sunday. All are on 35mm.

Brazilian filmmaker Nelson Pereira dos Santos is celebrated in “Politics and Passion.”

A 35mm print of Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii screens Friday and Saturday at midnight as part of “April Midnite: Tune In, Turn On.”
Tickets are still available for Sunday’s early showings of Spirited Away and A League of Their Own.

“Space is the Place: Afrofuturism on Film” brings its eponymous film, as well as Brother from Another Planet, Blade, and more.
