Late last fall we got the fairly shocking news that Terrence Malick would be heading into back-to-back production on two new films, one titled Knight of Cups and starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Isabel Lucas, the other titled Lawless, also featuring Bale and Blanchett, as well as Ryan Gosling and Haley Bennett.
It has now be revealed, via Deadline, that Natalie Portman will join both films, but as expected, her role hasn’t been revealed. We actually have no story details on either film, but did see some recent pictures of a test shoot and Mara recently stated filming for her Lawless won’t begin until later this year. As for Portman, this marks her first feature film since having her child, starring in six films last year and receiving the Oscar for Black Swan.
She is also linked to the Wachowski‘s next sci-fi epic Jupiter Rising, but don’t expect that to go into production anytime soon. Knight of Cups is expect to begin shooting this summer as we wait for Malick to release Malick his untitled romantic drama starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem and many other possible cameos.
