Aint It Cool News has ran a news story from one of there readers about a possible Mission Impossible 4, and apparently while Tom Cruise was on a Japanese game show he revealed plans for a Mission Impossible 4. Cruise was a guest on the Japanese show SMAPxSMAP, and apparently Cruise stated that a Mission Impossible 4 is a possibility. His apparent statement was, “working on the story right now” and also might have said, “thinking about how to stage a big action sequence in downtown Tokyo“.
Right now, I would just label this a rumor. But the idea, to me, is interesting. I personally would like a Mission Impossible 4. I like the first movie, not so much the second, and I liked MI: III quite a bit and thought it was even better then the first. Also I think Cruise’s reputation is getting back on track now after his Tropic Thunder fat suit escapade, and Valkyrie which did pretty good business and I thought it was a good thriller. So I hope there is truth to this rumor, and lets hope we see Ethan Hunt back on the big screen some time soon.
