After hitting the scene with the taut thriller Headhunters, director Morten Tyldum will now get a bigger playing field for The Imitation Game. With Benedict Cumberbatch headlining as computer genius and recognized hero Alan Turing, the film will follow his life as a brilliant technician, whose work in cracking the Axis forces’ “Enigma Code” was a huge boon in the effort to end World War II. Sadly, his life ended with a tragic suicide spurred by institutional hatred of his homosexuality.
With production now gearing up to kick off in a matter of days, we’ve now a few other additions in both cast and crew, joining Keira Knightley and Matthew Goode. First up. Mark Strong revealed in an interview last month that he’ll reteam with his Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy star, fittingly playing “the guy who knows everything.” On the crew side, the talented composer Clint Mansell (The Fountain, Stoker, Noah) has boarded the project, while Argo and Zero Dark Thirty editor William Goldenberg will provide his cutting talents. As we await more updates, for some more insight into the project, check out a behind-the-scenes photo from the art department below.
Coming from an acclaimed Black List screenplay by Graham Moore, Allen Leech rounds out the cast for the film that will likely land in 2014.
