With rumors of a sequel to Matthew Vaughn‘s Kick-Ass occurring as early as that film’s press tour, it seems a bit hard to believe it’s actually all coming together. But indeed it has, and as Vaughn preps X-Men: Days of Future Past for a 2014 release, the film is in the hands of Jeff Wadlow. With much of the major cast set to return, we’ve now news of another coming back.

But before that, above one can see the official logo are for the film, along with confirmation of a 2013 date. It’s completely unremarkable and I somewhat apologize for wasting your time like that, with the only other information to glean being it may not be titled Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.

Back to casting, THR lets us know that supporting actor in the first one, Yancy Butler will be coming back as Christopher Mintz-Plasse‘s mother. Doubling as Red Mist, this film will feature him in an expanded role as he battles Aaron Johnson‘s Kick-Ass. Also returning is Chloe Moretz and Nicolas Cage, as well as newcomers John Leguizamo and Scrubs star Donald Faison.

Production begins this September in Toronto and New York, with Universal Pictures releasing the film next year.
