The never-ending cycle of rumors surrounding possible villains for Christopher Nolan‘s planned 3rd Batman film is a lot like the frenzy of premature predictions that occur on election night. It could go in any direction but the talking heads will still do their best to make educated (or sometimes not-so-educated) guesses.
The latest buzz regarding the villain comes from Hollywood Life who are speculating that Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be on board to play The Riddler in the highly anticipated sequel. The Riddler has yet to be confirmed as the main villain for the film (heck, the script isn’t even complete yet!) but the buzz keeps circulating this character based on a few comments from Nolan himself about potential villains.
With Gordon-Levitt starring in Nolan’s Inception it was only a matter of time before his name was brought up as a potential candidate for the role. Although he’d probably be great for the role it seems a little to easy for a director who has shown impeccable skill at casting his films.
In any case, the never-ending riddle (get it?) of who will be the villain in Batman 3 will surely play on for quite some time before we get official word from Nolan.
