If there is a single thing nearly all Bad Robot films have in common, it is the secrecy of their projects. While the tight-lid has added to the experience in some cases (Cloverfield), others it proved not to be as necessary (Super 8).  Well, the directors of both of those features are teaming up to produce a new action film under J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot label, Variety reports.

There are no details other than that it will be an untitled action film, but they’ve hired director Brad Parker to helm with a script by Michael Gilio (who also worked on Warner Bros. magician murder mystery Carter Beats the Devil). Parker is a relative newcomer to the directing scene, although he has worked on films such as Fight Club and The Time Machine, in the digital animation field.

Hailing from MTV (where he launched their digital animation lab), Parker recently worked with Reeves on Let Me In as visual effects supervisor and second unit director. He had the same responsibilities on Mark Romanek‘s failed Locke & Key pilot, which starred Jesse McCartney, an actor he would pick to lead his directorial debut, the Oren Peli-produced The Diary of Lawson Oxford (aiming for a release late this year).

As for Gilio, he scripted Bitterroot, the upcoming directorial debut for music video maker Chris Milk, set to be produced by  Gore Verbinski and Megan Ellison‘s Annapurna Pictures. Bad Robot is also doing just fine, with Ghotocol crossing every Bond at the domestic box office today and Star Trek 2 almost headed into production. I’m just eager to actually see some of their many, many, many mysterious smaller projects. Check out one of Parker’s commercials below.
