Although Halloween is approaching, horror continues next spring when we get a double dose of remakes from two classics in the genre. With the first footage of each unveiling at New York Comic-Con this past weekend, both Carrie and Evil Dead are hoping to scare an entirely new generation.

First up, newcomer Fede Alvarez has taken on the duty of rebooting Sam Raimi‘s classic, with help from producers of the original, and the first look has arrived, above via Entertainment Weekly. One can see star Jane Levy in truly terrifying fashion, as she’s joined in the film by Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. Reaction to the teaser shown at NYCC seemed to be positive, so hopefully it will land online soon.

We’ve also got a new international poster for the Kimberly Peirce-directed (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) remake of Carrie, originally helmed by Brian De Palma. Featuring our star Chloe Grace Moretz in the iconic soaked-in-blood stance, the poster, from Dark Horizons, is pretty effective recreating that imagery. Also starring Julianne Moore, come back for the first teaser trailer tomorrow.

Carrie hits theaters March 15th,  while Evil Dead arrives around a month later on April 12th.

Which film are you most-anticipating?
