With the Coens’ True Grit premiering just around two years ago, we’ve been waiting to see the next film from the Oscar-nominated break-out star Hailee Steinfeld. While none of her upcoming projects have hit theaters yet, it doesn’t mean she hasn’t kept busy. The up-and-coming actress has four films in the can, from next year’s major blockbuster Ender’s Game to smaller dramas like Romeo and Juliet, Hateship, Friendship and Can a Song Save Your Life?.
While we can expect the latter three to show up on the festival circuit next year, the actress has booked another major film. According to Deadline, she’s set to join Kevin Costner in the female lead role for the latest action thriller from director McG and producer Luc Besson. Previously titled Three Days to Kill, the project will see the actress play the daughter of Costner and one can see the official synopsis below.
The thriller explores a story about Secret Service Agent Ethan Runner who discovers he’s dying and decides to retire in order to reconnect with his estranged family. But when the Secret Service offers him access to an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment, he soon finds himself trying to juggle his family, his mission, and the drug’s hallucinatory side-effects.
Production is expected to kick off next year for a 2014 release.
