In Hollywood we get an endless amount of trailers, TV spots, clips, featurettes and everything in between, but thankfully Studio Ghibli does things a bit different. Although their next work is getting a theatrical release in Japan tomorrow, after a short teaser, the first full-length, four-minute trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises has landed.

Marking his first feature since 2008′s Ponyo, the film takes inspiration from the director’s own manga and a novel by Tatsuo Hori. Following Jirō Horikoshi, a man best-known for designing the Zero Fighter plane used in bombing Pearl Harbor, there’s no subtitles but we did get an extensive peek inside this gorgeous world. Check it out below for the film featuring the voice acting of Hideaki Anno, Miori Takimoto, Steven Alpert, Morio Kazama, Keiko Takeshita, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Mirai Shida, Mansai Nomura and Masahiko Nishimura.

Update: Check out a version with subtitles below, as well as the U.S. poster.

The Wind Rises hits NY/LA for one week on November 8th before a late February wide release.
