Reteaming with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, The Equalizer marks the first potential action franchise for Denzel Washington, who is playing a “troubleshooter” employed for a company called “The Agency.” This line of business finds Washington doing private investigating and business with a more physical bent, all in the name of doling out justice to those who are truly deserving.
An update on the ’80s TV show, this iteration follows him taking down the Russian mob and today the first trailer has landed. While we imagine Nicolas Winding Refn‘s version would have been much different, Fuqua looks to have crafted a fun, throwback thriller. Ahead of a fall release, check out the trailer and poster below for the film also starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Melissa Leo, Haley Bennett, Marton Csokas, Johnny Messner, Vladimir Kulich, and Robert Wahlberg.
Update: See the domestic trailer below.
The Equalizer arrives on September 26th, 2014.
