This year will not only bring the final performance from Robin Williams, but also the long-awaited reunion of Monty Python, in the same film no less. As promising as that sounds, unfortunately they’ve all gathered for supporting voice performances only, as Simon Pegg takes the lead in Absolutely Anything. Directed by Terry Jones (who adds his voice alongside John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Michael Palin), the first trailer has now arrived.
The story tracks Pegg as a disillusioned school teacher who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed alien watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these newfound powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Williams) to help him along the way. Also featuring Kate Beckinsale, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard, Joanna Lumley and Rob Riggle, check out the trailer below.
Absolutely Anything hits U.K. theaters on August 14th and is awaiting a U.S. release.
