When your last film takes place entirely inside of a buried coffin, you have nowhere to go but up. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rodrigo Cortés’ Buried (bad script/performances/voice acting), I’m certainly excited for his next feature. Red Lights stars Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Toby Jones and Cillian Murphy.

Co-starring we have the Sundance breakout star Elizabeth Olsen, who gave one of the year’s best performances thus far in Martha Marcy May Marlene. There is another breakout star, Craig Roberts, who will be seen by American audiences this June in Richard Ayoade‘s Submarine.

The thriller follows “a psychologist, and her assistant, whose study of paranormal activity leads them to investigate a world-renowned psychic.” Aullidos via STYD has the first still above featuring Robert De Niro.

Red Lights is currently filming and will likely see a release in 2012.
