After giving us heralded back-to-back projects with 35 Shots of Rum in 2008 and White Material the year after, writer/director Claire Denis has finally returned four years later with her new film. First revealed last summer, The Bastards was set to go into production and without a peep during the process, we’ve now got the first look and official synopsis today.
As to when we’ll actually be able to see the film, this initial reveal has us hopeful for a Cannes 2013 bow, something we’ll find out soon enough. Container ship captain Marco Silvestri is called urgently back to Paris.
