With hundreds of films released each year, it’s pretty obvious that many scripts never get made — enter the Black List. According to Deadline, in a competitive bidding match, Endgame Entertainment emerged victorious in auction for one of entries on this year’s slate, Flashback.

Written by first time screenwriter — and very recent UCLA graduate — Will Honley, Flashback tells the story of a “former NASA pilot with amnesia — also the first person to travel the speed of light — realizes he has the ability to travel back in time and along they way rediscovers his love for his wife.” Before the script is optioned to various directors, Honley will have the chance to look over the thing once more for a nice polish.

We’ve seen the rise in sci-fi films this past year with the sci-fi/ horror entry Apollo 18, Alfonso Curon‘s upcoming and highly anticipated thriller Gravity, as well as the other Black List script titled In the Event of a Moon Disaster, which provides “an alternate telling of the Apollo 11 mission tot he moon that examines what might have happened if the astronauts had crash-landed there.” Past Endgame projects include 2009’s Oscar-nominated An Education and Todd Haynes‘s I’m Not There.
