/Film discovered a very interesting video to say the least, that could possibly hint at the next film by District 9 director Neill Blomkamp. One of their readers discovered it on the iPad edition of the next WiReD magazine featuring Tron: Legacy. The video “features two young men who discover a dead alien-looking creature in a puddle on the side of a dirt road.” On that creature, there is a stamp that reads “18.12 AGM Heartland Pat Pend USA” as well as “US Inspected And Approved”. All we know about Blomkamp’s next film is that it will stay in the sci-fi realm, but not related to District 9. It will be his own original story, but set on another planet. He has said it is “violent, very violent, and very unique hopefully.” He always previously said it will take place 150 years in the future and in one of two cities that he is currently deciding, but not South Africa. In a contradictory statement he said that “the cities will play themselves.” We will have to see, but if this above video is any indication, Blomkamp won’t be changing his style.
