It’s funny how much a title can tell you about a movie, with tiny little variations having the ability to change pre-viewing expectations or assumptions about a film.
Case in point: Deadline reports that Bob Peterson‘s The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs has had its date moved for, Frozen, which will now open on November 27th, 2013.
Update: /Film has learned that Frozen is actually the name being granted to Disney’s adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen‘s The Snow Queen. The film was initially planned for a hand-drawn presentation, but, sadly, BleedingCool hears that Disney will go the CG way. For a project that’s been in some state of development since 2002, however, safety is a good idea.
Otherwise, Marvel’s The Avengers has now been retitled Marvel’s The Avengers 3D. You can probably tell that Disney has decided to post-convert the film from 2D to 3D — but, luckily, the release date of May 4th, 2012 remains firm and true. Meanwhile, the so-far untitled Marvel project set for June 27th, 2014 has been shifted forward to April 4th, 2014. Unusual of them to move out of the summer slot, but this is all part of the blockbuster calendar’s changing nature.
So what does all this mean? 3D will stick around for a little longer, even if it means more post-conversions, and a film that has no title is still expected to come out; just sooner than usual.
Any thoughts on these small but substantial changes?
