Once you are a part of the Christopher Nolan family, you stay a part of the Christopher Nolan family. This fact is evident in any number of the director’s films, including his next, and the notion even extends to his collaborators. As we know, his long-time cinematographer Wally Pfister is getting ready to shoot his directorial debut and with Nolan producing, we recently got word that Morgan Freeman had joined the ensemble.
Now another frequent Nolan collaborator has come aboard Transcendence, according to Latino Review. Inception and his Batman trilogy star Cillian Murphy has booked one of the three male leading roles alongside Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany. Also including Kate Mara and Rebecca Hall, there’s no additional details on Murphy’s role, but it marks his only upcoming, confirmed Hollywood project.
Coming from a script by Jack Paglen, Depp leads the film as a scientist named Will who is murdered by anti-technology terrorists. His wife (Hall) then uploads his brain into a computer and soon enough Will is reborn in the machine and finds the ability to communicate through it, allowing him to continue conducting his research. Shooting kicks off next month for an April 2014 release.
