After earlier rumors, Deadline confirms that An Education and Never Let Me Go star Carey Mulligan will join Michael Fassbender (Fish Tank, Inglourious Basterds) in Steve McQueen‘s follow-up to Hunger, Shame. Check out the official synopsis and promo poster below.
Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister (Mulligan) moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control.
From director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.
The film will shoot in early January on location in New York City, before Mulligan becomes Daisy in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
