Originally screening at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Daniel Wolfe’s first full-length feature debut Catch Me Daddy is landing in U.K. theaters shortly and the first trailer has now arrived. Directed and co-written by Wolfe (along with Matthew Wolfe), the thriller follows Laila, played by Sameena Jabeen Ahmed (who won Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards), who is in hiding from her own family on the moors of Yorkshire in Northern England. Along with her boyfriend Aaron, played by Connor McCarron, the two are forced to run for their lives as they are pursued by Laila’s brother and a band of hired thugs on sent by Laila’s very own father.
The first trailer shows off the stylized and exciting atmosphere that is to be found here, reminding us of the similar aesthetic that Michel Gondry has in his work. If you are in the United Kingdom you can check out Catch me Daddy in cinemas on February 27th. Sadly, there’s no word yet on a North American release. Check out the trailer and first clip below, along with a pair of vibrant posters (with one coming from Little White Lies).
