As many will recall we recently reported the fourth installment to the Jason Bourne saga hired a new writer to pen the script. Well today producer Frank Marshall stated via his twitter account “Bourne4 will be out summer 2011…” While the validity of this statement is still suspect, it’s yet another “unofficial” confirmation that things may indeed be moving forward for the franchise. There has been no word from star Matt Damon or director Paul Greengrass at this point so only time will tell. One thing is for sure, though: If there is any hope of making that deadline the production needs to begin within the next year.
Once again, allow me to state that there should not be a fourth Bourne film. At the same time, I can understand why a studio would want to push forward with a fourth. Each film has been better than its predacessor so it might work but only if every single key player returns.
